How it works
Turn Slack Into a Culture of Recognition
KaBoon is a Slack-native recognition and culture engine. Celebrate teammates, run leaderboards, and build momentum without leaving where work happens.

Recognize a teammate with /award
Run /award in any channel to praise someone and tag it to a company value. Praise is public, specific, and lands in seconds, right where the work happened.

Points roll up to factions
Every award grants points that automatically roll up to the recipient's team, turning individual recognition into a live leaderboard competition everyone can follow.

Seasons keep it fresh
Run recognition in defined seasons, monthly, quarterly, whatever fits. When one ends, the leaderboard resets so every team gets a fresh shot and the competition stays worth following.

Redeem boons for rewards
Turn points into spendable boons and let people redeem individual prizes or collaborative team goals in the Boon Shop. Entirely optional; recognition works on its own.

See your culture in analytics
A values heat map shows which behaviors are celebrated and where culture is thriving or quietly slipping, so you can lead with data, not guesswork.

That's it. Your team just leveled up. 🎉
No portals to babysit, no budgets to burn down. Just recognition that happens where work already does.
Why it works
It lives in Slack
A slash command beats opening a web app. Recognition happens in the flow of work, so it actually gets used.
No daily allowance to burn
Awards are unlimited and tagged to your values, so recognition stays generous and intentional, never a use-it-or-lose-it chore.
Recognition becomes a team sport
Every award rolls up to a faction, so praise carries weight beyond a single thank-you and pulls quiet contributors into the spotlight.
Seasons reset the board
Time-boxed seasons keep competition fresh and give everyone a fair shot each round, so engagement doesn't plateau.
It sounds like your company
Rename teams, values, currency, and themes. The program carries your culture's language instead of a vendor template.
Rewards stay optional
Run recognition on its own, or switch on the Boon Shop with individual prizes and team goals when incentives fit the season.

Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to get started?+
Adding KaBoon to Slack takes under a minute, and you can set up your first season in about 10–15 minutes with the guided wizard. Recognition can start the moment it's installed.
Do people have to leave Slack to use it?+
No. The core habit of giving recognition with /award happens entirely in Slack. The web app is there for boards, admin setup, analytics, seasons, and rewards, but day-to-day praise never leaves chat.
Is there a daily limit on recognition?+
No. Unlike tools with a daily allowance, KaBoon awards are unlimited and tagged to your values. Recognition stays intentional without being rationed.
Do we have to use rewards?+
No. Points, values, factions, seasons, and leaderboards work as a complete program with no rewards. The Boon Shop is optional. Most teams turn it on later, once they've watched typical point totals.
What happens when a season ends?+
The leaderboard resets for the next season so competition stays fresh and everyone gets a fair restart. Recognition history is preserved; only the standings reset.
Does KaBoon work for Microsoft Teams?+
KaBoon is Slack-native today. If your recognition needs to live in Microsoft Teams, it isn't the right fit yet.
